HALLOWEEN!

On Halloween Ayla got to come to Pinnacle where we work and trick-or-treat around the office.  She got SO MUCH CANDY.  The different departments were all decorated, some really scary.  I was worried that she wouldn't be ok with it, but boy did she love the scary stuff.  Those were the departments that she didn't want to leave.  She wanted to see every skeleton and every grave.  She would get really close and say "WOW! Dats so tool!"  Meaning wow, that's so cool!  And then she would throw a fit when I had to drag her away from the creepy decorations!

That evening we met at Kyle's house and went around his neighborhood with his brother's fam.  Every time a door opened Ayla would bolt into the house and I would have to go in and get her.  Embarrassing!  Eventually I just had to carry her because she was getting worn out and didn't want to walk and to avoid her running into every single house.  We had so much fun and were so glad that Kyle's family let us tag along.  They are the best!

Kyle's Birthday, Halloween Party, and Trunk-or-Treat.

Kyle just turned 22!  SO OLD!  :)  The Saturday before his birthday I planned a dinner with the Jett's and the Young's.  It was supposed to be a surprise but Jenaca might have let the cat out of the bag the night before at the corn maze when she said "See you guys tomorrow night!"  and Kyle was like "...what's happening tomorrow night?"  And I am a terrible liar/secret keeper and I couldn't stop laughing.  Sigh.

Kyle and I got to go to the BYU v. Idaho football game with his parents where I got to see my aunt Cindy and cousin Kyle.  And where I got a terrible sunburn on half of my face and my ankles... awkward.  Then we had dinner at Outback Steakhouse.  And of course I have no pictures from these events.

On Ky's birthday (the 25th)  I filled his desk with 30 balloons, a bunch of candy, and a Transformers birthday banner.  He loves Transformers! The poor guy had to deflate all of his balloons so he could work. And he had to deal with everyone in the office knowing it was his birthday!

That night we went to Applebee's with his family where they sang an obnoxiously loud birthday song and Ayla was a nightmare the entire meal.  Surprise, surprise.  Then we opened presents and ate cake at his house.  I hope he had the best birthday ever because I LOVE HIM and he is so great.

Green and yellow for Green Bay... obviously!

Happy birthday, Kyle!

Friday night the Jett's hosted a Halloween party.  There were games, food, and fun friends!  Kyle and I dressed up as zombie killers and Ayla was a puppy!  Next year we are so planning our costumes in advance.  We had to rush around like an hour before the party getting our costumes together.  Not being prepared is stressful!

Saturday my ward had their Trunk-or-Treat/Chili dinner.  We walked Ayla down there in her puppy costume and had a great time!  Even if we weren't there very long.  Ayla didn't get the concept of going from car to car.  She wanted to stop at every car, sit down with whoever was passing out candy, and was upset when we told her she had to keep going.  She had fun seeing all the other kids in their costumes though and she LOVED the popcorn and the hot chocolate she got!

My loves walking to the church.

Ayla and Kyle are best friends.

Ayla had to stop and play in the leaves on the way there!

Haunted Ginger Bread House and Thanksgiving Point Round 2!

I am so behind in my blogging... and I have so many pictures!  I'm going to break up everything that has happened the past few weeks into mini posts!

A couple weeks ago we made gingerbread haunted houses at Kyle's house.  And by "we" I mean Kyle worked really hard on an awesome one and I tried to stop Ayla from destroying everyone else's and eating all the candy.  :)

He's so thrilled that I'm taking pictures...

We also got to go back to Cornbelly's Corn Maze with our friends the Jett's and the Young's!  We brought the little girls along and it was so much fun!  I didn't bring my camera (seeing as I lost it at Lagoon) but Kyle took a few good pictures of Ayla!

Pumpkins, Hayrides, and the Best Family Ever!

Fall is my very favorite season.  I love the crispness in the air, the color and crunch of the leaves on the ground, the smell of cider, spices, and all things pumpkin!  And because I do love this season so much, I want to share that love with my daughter.  I want her to crave this season the way that I do and to savor every chilly, soggy moment of it!

This being Ayla's first full fall season and her first ever October, I wanted her pumpkin-hunting experience to be the best.  I would not accept less than the authentic farm experience.  I thought that this would be a little hard in Utah, but I was extremely wrong!  I just typed "Pumpkin patch Utah Valley" into the google machine and I found this wonderful place!

We waited until it was a little closer to Halloween to go pick out our pumpkins.  I really didn't like the idea of visiting a patch in 70 degree weather.  Oh, it was worth the wait.  We were FREEZING and I loved it!  It was the first afternoon that truly felt like full-on fall to me.  I mean we were shivering before 6pm!

This experience was perfect.  It was more than I could have ever hoped for Ayla's first pumpkin picking trick.  Ayla and I are so blessed to have Joseph.  He's such a hands-on daddy.  Ayla adores him and I adore watching their daddy-daughter relationship blossom.  Ayla is a daddy's girl, no question.

So to spare you every wordy detail... Here is our South Ridge Farms Pumpkin Patch Experience in photos!

After our hayride back to the barn we packed up our tired little ice cube of a baby and headed back home.  I could not have asked for a more perfect evening at the farm!
